To help visualize the project I was describing in the previous post, I took a few pictures of the multi-staged, clustered Level 1 rocket. In this configuration, the rocket is approximately six feet tall. Ultimately, around one foot of the upper stage will be removed depending on the size of the payload. The transition sections are conical frustums made from printer paper shelled in a light-weight papier-mâché material.
To better comprehend the sizes, see each stage of the rocket side by side. It’s still really tall! Given the current progress, a launch test could take place as early as December, though it would likely only be a test of the first stage, since the flight computer for staging has not yet been developed.
